ADELA SINCLAIR
"Re-examine all that you
have been told, dismiss that
which insults your soul."
Walt Whitman
WELCOME TO
MY WORLD
I am a New York based freelance writer. Poet, memoirist, and short story writer.
POEM OF THE DAY
Nuit Blanche
A.S.
We tell each other everything
As if sunrise were a thief.
Immaculate in its plan
To vulture us to sleep.
Before the night is out
What we hold onto is untold,
No secrets, but a cover for the cold,
Passed on through our blood,
What unites us has no bounds.
If the sky would fall or
Break at the seams before its time,
We’d be sure to sail into the atmosphere
With a purpose in mind.
As we become stars and then collapse,
The universe will blow our fairy dust
To share
What we held onto and did not trust
To tell,
but to each other.
